I was thrilled to take part in inducting Leon Russell into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Most people don’t know that Leon wrote one of the greatest songs of all time, “A Song For You”, which has been covered by everyone from Donny Hathaway to Christina Aguilera. I’m really proud of our performance together so I wanted to make sure you got a chance to see it.

I kind of abandoned this the last few months, and in the past few weeks been more of a lurker, which this is not what this place was designed for. So I am getting back in the Tumblr game with a pretty awesome story from the local paper.
A couple in their 70’s won the lottery in July and after taking care of their family they made a list two pages long of the groups and charities they would donate to and gave the rest away. According to Violet, “What you never had, you never miss”. I may have shed a tear while reading their story.

This song reminds me of music class in elementary. We would all start out as kernels on the floor and slowly turn into jumping popcorn. Ah good times.
School starts tomorrow. I guess this means summer vacation is officially over.
After Earl hit Saturday I headed to one of my friend’s cottages to say goodbye to summer. We’re all wearing sweaters in this photo as Earl took away our abnormally hot weather and reminded us fall is really just around the corner.
For $70 I can pretend I’m a student at Hogwarts while watching TV. Yes please!
Holy Humidex!
It’s 41C with the humidex in Halifax and I finally have an afternoon/evening off to cool off without relying on the store’s A/C. Off to jump in the North Atlantic, won’t take me long to get in today!

Heat Wave
Pretty unusual for the East Coast to be so much hotter than the west. Especially this time of year. It’s 31C here today and supposed to be 34C tomorrow. This is before the humidity. It’s 38C with the humidity right now and its only noon. I of course have been working all closing shifts the last two days and tonight as well but I guess it could be worse. We at least have A/C. Tomorrow I will get to enjoy the late afternoon at least, either by melting because it is too hot to do anything or living in the water. Forgot I had two jobs there for a second. I mean I will be spending it melting on a boat in the middle of the harbour.
It’s because of Earl and Danielle we are getting this weather. Earl is supposed to make an appearance somewhere in Nova Scotia on the weekend. The only weekend other than John Mayer weekend I’ve had off this summer. The last weekend before school starts. I refuse to let Earl ruin my weekend!

I’m still trying to decide between an Android or an iPhone4. If I go Android then I have to decide if I want this phone or the HTC Desire.To get the HTC I’ll have to break my contract which will cost me $300 or $200 if I wait until December. BUT I’ll be paying $200 in monthly charges for a phone I don’t really want.
